The Cape Henry Collegiate (CHC) Athletic Program is a vibrant and successful department in an Independent College Preparatory School setting. The coaching staff are valued and important members of the CHC Community. We seek coaches who want to lead, mentor, and teach skill development, providing an exemplary experience in support of our school mission and core values.
Position Duties (include, but are not limited to)
- Provide instruction in all phases of the sport of tennis.
- Work with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
- Maintain compliance with Conference and State Athletic Association rules and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director to evaluate program needs.
- Communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, community, administration, and the media.
- Handle financial items for the athletic program, including the inventory and purchase of equipment and uniforms.
- Organize and maintain proper records, including TCIS & State forms, reports, team statistics, and summary season information.
- Maintain an excellent attendance record and be punctual.
- Complete reports timely and accurately.
- Possess knowledge of applicable health and safety practices.
- Assume full responsibility of practice plan and skill development.
- Create a professional working relationship with Conference & State opponents.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate professionalism and foster a positive environment.
- Have a working knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations.
- Exhibit skill in managing individual, group, organizational interactions and problem resolution.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience as an Assistant Coach or a Head Coach.
Physical Requirements
