Description

Cape Henry Collegiate’s athletic program is a vibrant and successful department in an independent college preparatory school setting. The coaching staff are valued and important members of the CHC community. We seek coaches who want to lead, mentor and teach skill development, providing an exemplary experience in support of our school mission and core values.

Position duties (including but not limited to): Contribute to the overall success and development of our strength and conditioning program. Lead training sessions for designated teams. Collaborate with the Head Strength Coach to ensure the safety and efficiency of tailored fitness and conditioning regimens for student-athletes. Assist with daily tasks, including setup, breakdown, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Reports To: Athletic Director & Director or Fitness & Performance.

Qualifications: *CPR/AD/First Aid Certification (Provided upon hire). *Willingness to complete and remain current with in-house training and background checks. *National certification such as NSCA, ASCM, NASM, ACE, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. *Preferred Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or related field *Prior experience in managing a safe weight room, personal or group training, and working with athletes. *Understanding of strength and conditioning rules and safety protocols, including proficiency in teaching technique and ensuring student-athlete safety.

In addition, we seek a coach who is dependable, adaptable and flexible in order to meet the needs of all athletes on the team. He/she should be an excellent collaborator who can take initiative, anticipate the needs of student athletes and assist in balancing all of the requirements of the CHC student-athlete. Hiring Process

Cape Henry Collegiate welcomes resumes and letters of interest at all times.

For a posted opening, qualified candidates will be granted a preliminary phone or video conference interview. Finalists generally are invited for a full-day interview.

In most scenarios, teaching candidates will be matched with a host teacher, who will provide helpful guidance before and during the visit. Candidates are interviewed by teachers, administrators, and in some instances students. Each teaching candidate delivers a sample lesson and has the opportunity to observe a class.
